Chris DiOrio is primarily a family man who became interested in medicine because his brother showed him the way as a clinical psychologist. His main motivation has always been to help people, but to help them in such a personal and individual manner as they were his own family & friends.
He attended The Ohio State University for undergraduate studies in biological sciences. After working in both a research and a clinical position, he chose “people” over research and then went on to medical school in California. He graduated from Western University of Health Sciences and did his arduous internship year at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center/St Francis Hospitals Systems.
After finding his interest in critical and acute care medicine, he did his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of South Carolina. He then practiced at the Medical College of Georgia receiving the Teacher & Faculty of the Year Award. He and his family moved to Charlotte, NC and his interest in Bariatric & Weight Management blossomed. The newly growing field of Obesity & Weight Management Healthcare grew and Dr. DiOrio was one of the first physicians in the area to bring this practice to the patients of North Carolina and South Carolina.
Leah has been practicing at Physicians Plan for the past 11 years mainly in the Hickory and Huntersville offices but travels to the South Carolina locations at least once a month for injectables. Leah has a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science – pre-med track then attended the PA program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine where she first started aesthetic training in both Dermatology and Plastic Surgery. Weight loss and aesthetics are her passion and Physicians Plan is her dream job as it combines all of her interests into one. Leah believes in aesthetics as a process over time to produce natural-looking results, “If you look like you’ve had work done, you’ve done too much work”.
Outside of work, Leah spends time with her baby girl Emerson “Emmie J”, husband, and pup “Bodi”. She loves to work out, wake surf, and read anything related to health and nutrition. Currently, she is finishing her Doctorate focusing her research on medical weight management and nutrition.
