Weight Loss and Hormone Therapy in Hickory, NC
1706 HIGHWAY 70 SE, HICKORY, NC 28602
Medical weight loss at our Hickory, NC clinic is physician-supervised care designed to address the root causes of weight gain. It is for people who want a provider involved from the start: a medical evaluation, lab testing when needed, an individualized plan, and follow-up visits that track your response.
Doctor-supervised weight loss at our Hickory clinic
Obesity is recognized as a chronic condition, and the weight loss program here is built as ongoing care. Supervision means a defined clinical pathway: physician involvement is one of the pillars our medical weight loss program rests on. Your provider reviews your labs, tracks how you respond, and adjusts the plan.
What happens at your first weight loss consultation
Your first appointment is a detailed consultation: we review your medical history and goals, assess body composition and metabolic factors, recommend lab testing if needed, and create a customized treatment plan. A medical evaluation is required before treatment starts, and baseline labs can include a comprehensive metabolic panel and thyroid testing. Regular check-ins then let your provider review side effects, track your response and adjust the plan. HSA and FSA funds may be used for weight-loss treatment prescribed for a physician-diagnosed condition; eligibility depends on your plan. When GLP-1 medication is part of your plan
Some plans include GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide. These medications are not for everyone. They carry a boxed warning for a risk of thyroid C-cell tumors and are not used in people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2; common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation. Your provider will review the risks with you. Prescription weight-loss medication may be considered for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition; your provider determines whether it is appropriate for you. Not every plan includes medication. A medical consultation is required before GLP-1 therapy starts, and your provider decides whether semaglutide or another medication suits your medical profile. Our semaglutide and tirzepatide programs set out what is involved.
Nutrition and lifestyle coaching in your plan
Nutrition support, behavior modification and activity are named pillars of the program alongside physician involvement. Your plan may include tools such as nutrition support, body composition analysis and a food and fitness tracking app; body composition analysis is a measurement that helps your provider track progress.
Hormone therapy alongside weight loss
Physician’s Plan also offers hormone therapy alongside weight loss: for diagnosed low testosterone in men, and for menopause symptom treatment. Your provider decides what is appropriate after reviewing your labs.
Med spa and aesthetic treatments
Beyond weight loss and HRT, Physician’s Plan offers med spa and aesthetic treatments, with injectables performed by our expert injectors, under the supervision of our Medical Director. See the full med spa service list.
